Pilates Cord [affmage source="cj" results="100"]Pilates Cord[/affmage] [affmage source="amazon" results="10"]Pilates Cord[/affmage] I Have Pain Near The Scapula In My Upper Back (See Details)?
The Part of the shoulder that “sticks” out of your upper back when you lunge your arm backwards is your scapula,( i am pretty sure) near it, going towards my spinal cord i have a constant pain. it is like this pain is almost under my scapula. i don’t know how to explain it clearer, so maybe a diagram might work.. so it’s like this ~~Spine~~Pain~~Scapula i dont know if that helps make it clearer, but it really hurts there, it has been there for a while.. here try this picture –> http://thinkpilates.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/07/pilates-scapula-003-edited-2.jpg the pain is in between the scapula, and the spine.. what is it.. how can it be treated.. help me please
Any other changes in your health? Heartburn, nausea, etc. If so, medical causes for pain need to be ruled out.
Other than that, the most common source of pain in this area is a referred pain from the neck. For example, a bulging disc in the cervical spine can refer pain to this area. Most typically, certain movements with increase or decrease it.
If so, I’d recommend getting in to see a physical therapist who is trained in mechanical diagnosis and therapy. You can go to http://www.mckenziemdt.org to find such a provider. Depending on your insurance and in what state you live, you may need a referal from your GP.
Bands Resistance [affmage source="cj" results="100"]Bands Resistance[/affmage] [affmage source="amazon" results="10"]Bands Resistance[/affmage] How do you set up the p90x resistance bands?
I have three bands and they all cant seem to fit. What do i do?
Sam,
I am assuming you have the Black, Blue and maybe Yellow bands. The easiest way to get the handles onto the ends is to place the band on the floor, place your foot about 6 -12 inches from the end of the band. Grab the end that you foot is closests to and pull, so then band gets thinner. Then place the handle over the end.
If you have any other questions please don’t hesitate to message me.

Tubes Workout [affmage source="cj" results="100"]Tubes Workout[/affmage] [affmage source="amazon" results="10"]Tubes Workout[/affmage] If I don’t swim with the right form, will I still get a good workout?
I haven’t gone swimming in years, but am adding swimming to my workout routine. The pool I joined has a waitlist for lessons. I’m picking up a few tips by watching “how to” videos on You Tube and will perhaps buy a book. But if my form isn’t perfect, will I be hurting my body? I’m not looking to go particularly fast; I just want to improve muscle tone and burn calories–something I can’t currently do with my favorite activities (running, walking) because I’m battling shin splints.
To answer your question, yes you might hurt your body a bit (drag) because you are not swimming in the right form. I suggest you proceed slowly and observe other swimmer how to do certain strokes properly, you can get pointers. May I also suggest doing warm-ups and cool downs as well. Another suggestion is a good website for swimmers: www.goswim.tv – they have video drill of the week. Good luck.

Tube Fitness [affmage source="cj" results="100"]Tube Fitness[/affmage] [affmage source="amazon" results="10"]Tube Fitness[/affmage] Can I have some feedback on this fitness plan?
Ok, today i ate – breakfast – honey nut o’s (organic) with bananas & 1% milk lunch – turkey (organic), cheese, lettuce, tomatoe, avocado sandwich on whole wheat snack – 100 calorie pack (oreo), apple, yogurt tube (organic, low fat) dinner – salad (lettuce, tomatoe, grilled chicken (organic), carrots, with olive oil & pepper dressing) good/bad? i need any and all opinions on this. i’m trying to figure out what i should be eating to stay healthy & lose a few pounds. (i’m 13 years old, between 5′ 1″ and 5′ 2″ and i weigh 120. i want to lose 10 pounds to be 110 just to be more fit.) to do this, i’ve been doing a small workout routine in the morning (pushups, crunches, leg lifts, squats, weight lifting for my arms) and then in the afternoon 2-3 times a week i ride my bike 2-3 miles or go on the elliptical for 15-30 minutes.
sounds like you are on the right track! the one thing i would change about your nutrition plan is to find a better cereal for the morning meal. chose one that’s still organic but has more fiber in it. although nutrition accounts for 80% of the way your body looks, it is important to be exercising regularly too which i see that you are. however make sure you are getting at the very LEAST three days of cardio per week. continue doing your morning routine every day if you can.
its so nice to see someone so young on the ball about nutrition and fitness. it gives me hope
Bands Ripcords [affmage source="cj" results="100"]Bands Ripcords[/affmage] [affmage source="amazon" results="10"]Bands Ripcords[/affmage] Has anyone used Ripcords resistance bands?
I am interested in buying a set of 3 Ripcords resistance bands for $24.99. I wanted to know if anyone has used them before, and if they have, how satisfied were you. Do you think they are worth the price? They come with a lifetime warranty, so I assumed they would be good to use. what are your experiences with Ripcords?
That isnt a bad price at all for resistance bands, especially if they have a warranty. I have used them before, and they were awesome. I wouldnt use them for strength building thow because they will break (ie..making them use the max resistance possible)…but if your using them to tone, they will be awesome go there for a lot of different exercises. There are videos to help you get the right form,

Physio Resistance [affmage source="cj" results="100"]Physio Resistance[/affmage] [affmage source="amazon" results="10"]Physio Resistance[/affmage] Weak knees and want to tone lower body………?
Wonder if i could get a bit of advice
My knees sometimes hurt after intense exercise so i put ice on them or use Biofreeze. I do knee strenghtening exercises, think the ligaments in my inner thighs are tight, would love to do physio again but can’t afford it for now.
Can anyone suggest exercises that you think would help to tone my hips and butt which won’t make my knees hurt.
I walk up a flight of 128 steps twice a week, and go to the gym every other day and take the stairs (two at a time) at every opportunity. My diet is good.
I workout on the stepper, my outer hips seem to be getting more toned but my butt is still not toned,do i need to increase resistance or decrease? as i find that either way it works different parts of my lower body but never my butt
i’d would love some advice please
Hey,
Well, a few weeks ago I tore my cartilage- more specifically, my Meniscus, in my right knee (or so the doctor says- MRI doesn’t show anything but it still is possible that it missed something) when I fell playing a sport. My problem is that i love sports, so i asked the doctor what sports i can still do. He said that there are 2 sports that are good and don’t put that much pressure on your knees, they’re swimming and cycling..mainly spinning (if you have really weak knees make the level or the gear 1 or 2) if its not that bad you can go higher.
You should get a x-ray or MRI done to make sure you don’t have an ingury like that (and if you do- it’ll take a while to heal) and he best way to strengthen your knees is to lean against the wall and pretend as though you sitting on a chair, do this for a while evryday. If your knees are just weak and nothings wrong (mine were even before the incident) just try to strengthen them and make sure you done run down stairs or down a hill as it puts alot of pressure and shock on your knees.
Hope that helps…

Medium Resistance
Exercising hard + diet, how long will it take until I see results?
Ok… I’ve started exercising like a madwoman (haven’t done any for years, and am totally fed up with my wobbly bits!) and I’ve sort of thrown myself into it. I’m currently doing 2 sessions (10-15mins) a day on a crosstrainer at medium resistance and a 40 min walk every other day on top, plus as a warm up for the crosstrainer I do 10 mins of stretching with 2kg weights. I’m also sticking to 1200-1300 calories a day for food, and keeping it healthy, going to up the calories to 1300-1400 in a fortnight to prevent my body getting too upset.
Anyone got any idea when I’ll start seeing some results of my hard work?! Or how much I’m likely to loose in a month?
Cheers all and have a good day! ^.^ XxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxX
In 6 to 8 weeks people around you will start to notice before you do. It may take you up to 6 months to get where you want to be, but always stay motivated and know that in the end the hard work will be worth the results. I have recently lost 20 pounds, but it was not easy. I lost 10 really fast then the weight stayed the same for a while. Then i lost 5 more, and then i stayed there for a while. And then out of nowhere the last 5 went away. This all took me 6 months. I worked out 6 days a week religiously and it paid off. The results are well worth the effort. Good luck and take pictures of yourself to see where you are now and how far you have come.
