Before you go and waste hundreds or perhaps thousands of dollars on home exercise equipment, read this article. You’ll learn about which home exercise equipment to avoid and which ones are good money spent.

First off, I don’t think you need any home exercise equipment that costs over $100 if your goal is weight loss and nicer abs. The only exception being the elliptical machine… but that’s not even 100% necessary.

If you’re going to buy home exercise equipment, then here are my 3 top choices:

Home Exercise Equipment #1: Hula hoop

Yeah, that’s right… the hula hoop… or hoola hoop, however you want to spell it. This is becoming 1 of my favorites really quick. You’ll know why once you try it out. Start out by trying to do it for 2 minutes at a time. Build up to at least 10 minutes total in a day. I prefer to space out my 2 minute mini-sessions of hula hooping.

Home Exercise Equipment #2: Ab Roller or Ab Wheel

You know, the little wheel thing. It actually works. Just grab the handles with your hands, get on your toes or knees, then wheel it out in front of you. Then back. I’ll let you decide how many sets and reps you’ll do. I bet it won’t be as many as you think you can do. It’s hard!

Home Exercise Equipment #3: Mini-trampoline

This happens to be my favorite home exercise equipment. I use it just about everyday during tv commercials. I love it. It works the whole body and is low impact. It costs about $25. Great investment in yourself and your weight loss efforts.

Personally, I think those are the only 3 pieces of home exercise equipment that you need. Throw in an elliptical too if you want to splurge. Total cost for the 3… less than $50. Cheaper and much more effective than $400 treadmills and stairsteppers that fast become just an extra coat rack after a few weeks use.

Any ideas for an adult luau?

I work at a bar and suggested the idea of having a luau/pig roast. Now, I have the responsibility of doing most of the planning. As a bartender, the drink ideas are covered and food is also taken care of. I am looking into finding hula dancers in the area for entertainment. There is also going to be a DJ later in the day. I am having some trouble thinking of new ideas for making money, besides the obvious ticket cost and tropical drinks. Any idea would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Have a limbo contest with entry fee, sell leis, grass skirts, coconut bras, and hawaiian shirts, have a shot girl dressed in a hula outfit…

Have you ever asked the question "Can I lose weight from hula hooping?" If you ask the question then is good news. Here are some tips for how to begin to include the hula hoop in their physical training.

Let us first see how to choose a hoop that can be used in training. Size matters, choose the right size hoop. Forget those found in Toys R Us, that are kid-sized hoops, unless of course you are a kid-size. Therefore, an adult-sized hoop, if you are a beginner to get the size Hooping evil ring, it will be difficult for You can choose to clamping.

As a general guide, with the hoop placed upright on the ground in front of you, the board must reach higher his chest. Of course the size of your waist should be taken into account. So the bigger, the hoop should be. The speed is inversely proportional the size of the ring. Bigger hoops are hoops rotate slower and smaller faster. Bigger circles that turn more slowly, it will be easier for you to learn initially hoop. Rings smaller lots are ideal for tricks faster and more control, but they are an excellent exercise.

Try to find a balance in speed and difficulty level of the rim of your choice. Try them in the store, get an idea of the speed and difficulty it is for your use. You do not want to get something that runs slowly and does not have a very good workout, or something ended so quickly abandon the hoop because it is too hard.

To start in his first workout hoop, try this:

1. Standing with one foot before the other
2. Hold the ring on your back, slightly above the belt
3. Push the hoop around your waist
4. Move the weight back and forth on his feet

Try to find the rhythm of the rotation ring, compared to their body movements. You may find yourself trying to move his hips in a circle to keep the ring, it is easier if you move the weight back and forwards. As for how to turn the hoop, try both methods, you instinctively find which side is most comfortable for you.

Well, that's essentially what you need to get started. Once you've mastered these simple steps and there are many more technical Advanced fun trying.

Hoop Dance

If you are like many Americans that are carrying around a few extra pounds you have also probably tried dozens of different exercise programs. Well the newest exercise trend is a little thing called the hula hoop.

That’s right it’s back and it’s not just for kids anymore. This simple contraption we all used when we where younger is now one of the most exciting new pieces exercise equipment on the market. I bet you never thought that the plastic hoop you whirled around your waist could ever be used to trim it down.

Now that you’re aware of the hula hoop as an exercise opportunity, you may ask “why should I try it”. Well besides nostalgia and the fact that its tons of fun, hula hooping is a great all over workout. Did I mention that there is an emphasis on the tummy region? That’s right ladies you can get a fabulous toned stomach, drop all those boring exercises and grab a hula hoop for a fun exciting workout.

Are you interested yet? Well if I’ve peeked your interest you’re probably wondering if there are true health benefits to be gained from hula hooping. The answer is yes! The main focus of this exercise is on your mid section but by moving the hoop around your body you can get a full body work out.

This is a great workout for women that just can’t seem to get rid of that belly. When you use it to concentrate on your stomach you will strengthen and tighten those stubborn abs and have fun doing it. The best part is that it takes virtually no time to feel that burn that lets you know that your work is actually working.

While there are classes and videos for the hula hoop challenged it’s not necessary for those of you who can twirl already. If you’re already a hula hoop champ here are some guidelines to help you along.

1. To get the most out of your workout you need to keep that hoop moving. The longer it stays in motion the more calories you burn.

2. Place the hoop in the area you want to work on. For example if you want to work the abs have it around your waist. You want to work your hips, thighs, and buns put it lower on your waist.

3. Once you are use to the process try mixing it up with a dance routine

Once you get the hang of the hula hoop you will feel like a kid again. Not only is this a cheap and effective method of exercise but it is also a lot of fun. Don’t torture yourself with those boring exercise videos anymore, buy yourself a hula hoop and feel young again.

Hula Hoola

I have to say, I’m a sucker for a good day of topwater fishing. To me theres nothing better then waking up in the morning and seeing winds at 5 km per hour and knowing the lake or river is going to be glass.

I may even be a topwater fanatic to a fault, always looking for that next big strike, fiending for it, not wanting to give up or change tactics until I get my fix. I can spend 6 hours casting the same bait in the same lake without a hit and still be hopeful because I know sooner or later I’m going to see a splash, feel a strike and see that beautiful fish break the surface and dance across the water like gravity was non existent.

But what makes topwater fishing effective? What can we do to ensure more hits and more landed fish? Here is what I’ve noticed in my recent experiences. Natural colors, enough said, nothing beats them. When I pick up a lure like a scumfrog, hula popper, jitter bug or chug bug I always make sure to get the darker more realistic colors. I have about 10 hula poppers ranging from light green to white and red, using them all equally I’ve noticed I’ve never caught anything on one that wasnt “natural”.

When I hit the lake or the river and I have my scumfrog, jitter bug and hoola popper I know its going to be a good day. For example I was fishing muskrat river a few days ago tossing everything in my box just to see what would stir up a strike, after getting nothing for about an hour I decided to talk to a local fishing the other banks, he said “Topwater hasn’t been working all year!”, but me being as stubborn as everyone knows I can be I started tossing that scumfrog right to the edge of the cover, within a few casts, FISH ON!

Now that may not always be the case and I do vouch for natural colors but every decent fisherman knows to coordinate your bait with the conditions. Clear water or natural cover I’ll always toss greens, browns or sometimes even blacks. Darker water or over cast days I’ll experiment with my whites, yellows and reds.

Just be aware of the conditions and you cant go wrong, even if you dont land a lunker nothing beats a good day on the water.
