It depends on the density & Elasticity of the & type of rubber used. Some very skinny narrow bands have more elasticity, than a Thicker wider band. So an average would depend entirely on the Components of the rubber in the band.

Look at pilates instructors, that is what they do. They may have the most refined core strength of anyone. Which is important.
Bands are good for improving flexibility, posture, joint mobilization – excellent rehab type stuff especially assisted core movements.
You may find that you will build more muscle with more traditional yoga movements (athletic movements – not long holds).
Look at some Karate instructors, they do yoga based core movements and never touch a weight – some are jacked up.

I am assuming you have the Black, Blue and maybe Yellow bands. The easiest way to get the handles onto the ends is to place the band on the floor, place your foot about 6 -12 inches from the end of the band. Grab the end that you foot is closests to and pull, so then band gets thinner. Then place the handle over the end.

Thats a great question man. first of all I would suggest listening to Radiohead. A mainstream band i know, but their music is so good. if you are looking for indie bands i would suggest listening to minus the bear, crime in stereo, or even suffering and the hideous thieves. As far as metal goes, i would check out Converge, Remembering never, Neurosis, and Norma jean’s first cd (bless the martyr and kiss the child)

wow…either try Office Max/Depot for binder rubber bands (the big ones), or a medical supply store or orthopaedic store where they sell those therapy bands that dancers use to increase flexibility. They also sell them at like target or something in the exercise section, but usually not by themselves. Good luck!
