Foam Mats [affmage source="cj" results="100"]Foam Mats[/affmage] [affmage source="amazon" results="10"]Foam Mats[/affmage] What is the difference between gatorfoam boards and foam core boards?
I am trying to mat some children’s art work pieces that will be displayed for a month in a city’s high trafficked library and am debating on which boards to use. I would like to save some money but need the art work to look well mounted and clean. Will foam core boards be able to look clean with out looking contemptible?
The two boards have the same filler. It’s just the outer covering that is different. Gatorboard has a much tougher covering. If no one will be touching the exhibits you may as well get foamcore since it will be so much cheaper. I use gator if I’m worried that the edges are going to get dented up or want to make a strong box for transport of a model. Gator is more labor-intensive to cut as well, plus the edges are sharper. A suggestion for cleaning up the look of foamcore would be to cover the edges. You can get a nice quality tape for this purpose. Another more professional way would be to use a rabbet cutter (sold in most art shops) to cut long strips of the foam core outer material and glue them with white glue along the sides. Good Luck!
Rate Watch [affmage source="cj" results="100"]Rate Watch[/affmage] [affmage source="amazon" results="10"]Rate Watch[/affmage] I want a watch for swimming that counts calories and heart rate w/No chestStrap?
Everthing I’ve seen so far has the strap that goes around your chest. I don’t like that it seems restrictive to breathing, and I read that it shifts around when they kick too hard off the wall. But I also want to improve my laptimes. Are there any Heart-Rate monitors (HRMs) that count calories that you can wear on your wrist only? Any alternatives to the chest strap?
These count heart rate:

*The Finis lap counter counts calories, anyway.

My appetite has grown a little bit recently, and so has by gut. I am just wondering what exercise is the best known that will flatten my gut back to where it was. Don’t say pushing away from the table, because I have cut down on my intake. I want an exercise that specifically works on the gut.
It’s called “push away from the table”.

What kind of jump rope for cardio?
D Im going to buy a jump rope for sports my cardio session. I was wondering What kind of jump rope, I should buy Speed-jumping rope or just a regular?
Speed jump thinking. To get your heart more high you can jump rope at the same time, you have to jump / skip very quickly. Thus, any smooth, speed or cut easily through rope air is better. Rope skipping is also helping the calf muscles, so if you do a lot of jumping rope, you will see improvements in your vertical leap … you go higher!

Bar Use
How often do you shower? Do you use bar soap?
I shower about once a week and never use bar soap because it makes my skin feel rubbery!
If I don’t stink is this still healthy?
People bathe to stay clean and, yeah. . . to not stink. So, if this is working for you, then it’s probably OK. However, if you’re writing to ask the advice of others, I am guessing that someone has approached you about your infrequent bathing. . . so, there may be some problem about which you are not aware.
Different cultures have different norms and standards for personal hygiene, so for many, this is a sensitive issue. You indicate that you don’t “stink,” but be aware that some individuals have a much more acute sense of smell than others. Is it possible that others are aware of your body odor and you are not? If that is the case then, you’ll want to conform to societal standards at least in certain situations so as not to offend others (dating, at school, at work).
However, if you are correct that you don’t “stink,” then it is possible that you have very dry skin and don’t need to bathe as frequently. Individuals with dry skin/dry hair and a lifestyle in which their occupations don’t cause them to get dirty (I’m a teacher. . . I don’t sweat a lot, and I don’t get grease or dirt on me in the line of duty) may not need to bathe as often as someone with oily skin/oily hair and/or an occupation that causes them to get dirty.
However, many feel that regular bathing has health benefits (removing pore clogging particles, removing sebum pores release while at rest, keeping the number of bacteria on the skin down to a minimum).
I have very dry skin, so I shower every other day and use a moisturizer to keep my skin soft and supple. I can wash my hair less often, say twice a week and just rinse in-between washings. I don’t wait until I start to stink to bathe, because, according to the Mayo clinic, “regular bathing keeps the number of bacteria in check.”
Also, regular bathing removes dirt, dust, and microscopic particles from the pores to keep them from clogging and causing blemishes.
Even if your lifestyle doesn’t cause you to sweat a lot, skin’s pores open up while the body is at rest to excrete small amounts of sweat to cleanse themselves. . . this sweat removes waste products but it makes a film over the body that many people find desireable to remove through bathing.
Maybe your soap is the culprit. If your skin feels “rubbery” maybe the bar soap isn’t rinsing off completely due to soft water in your area. If this is the problem, then you may consider switching to a liquid soap and use very little. . . or just rinse yourself between full showers.
If you have a problem with dry skin, your soap and/or laundry detergent could be making the problem worse. You may want to consider liquid soaps and or shower gels formulated for dry skin (Oil of Olay and Dove make excellent body washes that are available at most stores and are not very expensive). You may also consider switching to a laundry detergent that is made for people with sensitive skin. . . like All Free and Clear or other liquid laundry detergents without a lot of perfumes and chemicals that could be irritating to your skin and making it more dry.
Bathing is a personal matter, and what works for one person may or may not work for another. The goal is to maintain cleanliness and health, so again, if you’re healthy and you feel clean, then once a week may be working out for you. In other cultures where sanitary water is less plentiful, it is not uncommon for people to bathe weekly. In the early days of American history, people tended to bathe less often and to even families sharing bathwater! Many early American church-goers would bathe on Saturday evenings and go out to social events while fresh and clean Sat. night and then be clean and fresh for church Sunday. . . the rest of the week was less important.
I’m sure you’ll find a routine that works for you and is still acceptable to your loved ones.

Upper Body
How to get my upper body strenght up?
Im planning to join the army soon, i jsut need to wait for my date to go to the selection centre. But i upper body strenght is really bad. I have do 3 press ups and i can’t do chin ups. I have around 2 months to be able to do them. How can i improve? I’ve started doign weights, any other advise. Ways to do the weights, or..?
Thanks!
buy creatine monohydrate aka creatine at your local gnc, or fitness center, and buy whey protein. join a local gym, take the creatine PRE workout, go as hard as you can, then take protein POST workout.
the changes are amazing, when i started lifting i did this i was VERY VERY weak too, after 2 months, I could do 20 pull ups, and my bench was up 45 lbs, ALTHOUGH i then hurt myself cuz i did it to often, and havent been able to lift since then(march) i got tendonitis in both arms, so if your sore TAKE A DAY OFF, do not lift a muscle group if its sore, because it hasnt recovered and you literally will only be hurting it.
but to answer your question those two months got me 14 pounds bigger all muscle at that time, and probably 3 times stronger. just be safe, cuz whats more depressing than being weak is having tho motivation to lift but medically not being able to you, this will work.
